Children's rights in a changing climate
The consequences of our changing climate are being keenly discussed, but attention is rarely drawn to the fact that those already most seriously affected by the negative effects of climate change are children and youth. The situation is worst for children and youth in the poorest countries.
Plan therefore wishes to enhance interest in sustainable development and provide knowledge about climate change from a rights perspective. This training material is part of Plan Sweden’s climate programme. The programme also includes support for research and our work to influence public opinion. Risk reduction projects are being implemented in our programme countries to mitigate the effects of climate change. They are being implemented in cooperation with children and youth who are important participants in this work.
We hope that the material “Children’s Rights in a Changing Climate” will enhance knowledge and understanding and inspire important and exciting discussions on the climate issue from a human rights perspective.
I wish you every success in your work!
